Sketching mum’s garden at Queenscliff

My mum has created an amazing cottage garden down at Queenscliff. She has designed it to be beautiful from every vantage point. No matter where you stand, you see a lush mix of textures, colours and hidden surprises in amongst the leaves. My drawing doesn’t start to do it justice, but it was so peaceful sitting on the back deck that I couldn’t resist having a go.
It is hard to imagine that it started as a big expanse of grass surrounded by brick walls on one side (admittedly good for hitting balls against) and a broken fence on the other.
