It’s a while ago now, but I thought I’d share a sketch I did while standing in Swanston Street with my daughter watching the Anzac Day parade pass.

A hundred years after Gallipoli the ANZAC spirit is still strong, and it is easy to feel a lot of pride for the contribution made by so many young men and women over the years.

I was trying to work out how to catch a moving parade, but fortunately it stopped on a regular basis, and at one point I was lucky enough to have a lighthorseman in my sights – there can’t be anything much more symbolic than that.
