So what have I been up to during Melbourne's 112 day lockdown? A lot, as it happens! I have finally set up my online shop (if you just happen to be looking for a Christmas gift ...) and I am really excited to be exhibiting my Brunswick Street sketches at the Fitzroy Library, courtesy of the City of Yarra. Sadly coronavirus restrictions meant no opening event, but my artwork will be up until the end of January for your viewing pleasure. I hope you have a chance to stop by, and I would really love it if you could leave a comment on my website. Let's just pretend it's a visitors' book, okay?

If you aren't able to get to Melbourne (admittedly tricky for international visitors at the moment), I have cobbled together a video of the exhibition so that you can enjoy a little armchair travel. Just click on my exhibition page below to watch it.

Some of you may know that I am also a research librarian, which means that my exhibition is backed up with snippets of historical research, including vintage photos and newspaper clippings. In fact every display case has a matching information board with a little story and a photo either of the history of the area I was drawing or the art process. I had so much I wanted to share and not enough space, so I added a QR code to each board which links to a special page on my website. Equally, you can browse them from my main exhibition page. I hope you do!

A little taster of that Fitzroy history I was talking about ...

Not for profits and an explosion in 1910
Cohealth and the Brotherhood of St Laurence snuggle up opposite the housing commission flats. I love the green building next to cohealth and the bright red flowers flowing from the window box nearby. These must have been built after 1910, because the previous buildings exploded! Read more
